I am actually quite sad to be writing this review because I had such high expectations of this book ... I LOVED his first two novels. LOVED. Like Holy Grail LOVED. But, this one just fell flat for me. It certainly didn't meet my expectations and it was a disappointment in comparison to his first two novels. Finished up the audio a couple of days ago. On the first disk, I thought what I'd picked up to listen to was going to be a collection of short stories. In a way, it is just that. But the stories are all so cleverly connected.
IMO, Hosseini has truly outdone himself with this novel. I was sorry when it was over. I know I will read it in book form and listen to the audio again.
