I wish I'd read this one earlier! I've had it sitting on my Nook but just didn't feel like it looked particularly interesting! Boy, was I wrong! This is a gem of a book that you don't want to miss out on!

Aug 26th - just started listening. Heavy stuff. Can't help but wonder how people could be so horribly cruel.
Aug 27th - finished it all. Nearly shelved it - figured oh no - not another holocaust thing. But I hung in there - it was worth listening to it all. A real survival account and told well.

This is a well written story about survival in the toughest conditions imaginable. This book is an easy to read work of historical fiction, although the subject matter is tough to take emotionally. I listened to half the book on MP3 audio and read the other half. The narrator of the audio was OK. I am not a big audio book person though.
