What Members Thought

It's hard for me to imagine anyone making it through the 2500 pages it would take to finish this third volume of Proust's novel sequence and giving it anything but five stars. The last fifteen pages of this book are some of the most subtly moving and intelligent I've ever read, and illuminate the book's seemingly arbitrary structure.
Only a long review or a very short one can do for a book like this. Maybe I'll write more some day. For now, I look forward to the 4th book. ...more

Swimmingly brilliant. No trace of authorial ego, it's all artistry. Like painting the Forth Road Bridge, could imagine starting back at the beginning again at the end of the year...not saying I will!
