I am always eager to read anything I can get my hands on concerning Psalm 23. I have said, many times, that this great passage is more than a Psalm for the dead, but is a Psalm for the living.

Bro. Collins does an amazing job with the text, holding true to a balanced interpretation of the text. I felt that his material was more than adequately researched. James Collins states in his biography that he strives to be an effective communicator of God’s Word. I must say that after reading his book, The Shepherd, he remains true to his calling. The author begins by making the point that Psalm 23 is not just for the infirmed or to comfort those who have suffered the loss of a loved one, it is a psalm for the living—for the whole of life.

The Shepherd Experiencing Psalm 23 by James Collins is a great line by line study through this beloved Psalm. I love an in-depth study of the word that offers my time to meditate on the Word; this gave me exactly what I needed. This Psalm is one of the most profound and well-known pieces of scripture.
