Synopsis:
Ashton Garrison walked away from a privileged life in order to hide from the one thing she's not willing to face. She knows she left behind a trail of pain, but in the long run, her betrayal will hurt less than the truth. She now has one goal: Live life to the fullest with no regrets and no attachments. She has high hopes that a move to new surroundings will provide the escape she desires, but what Ashton doesn't count on is how fate always seems to find a way to screw up any good plan. Sometimes, when love comes knocking, the pull is too strong not to answer. Suddenly, what she thought she wanted to escape from is what Ashton now wants more than anything.

Nathan Lockton has one mission: find his target and complete the task he was hired to do—no attachments and no emotion necessary. He's done it over and over again. What he thought was a typical lost-and-found job has turned into a life examining moment as Nathan is forced to deal with something he has always ignored--his feelings. Now faced with a decision, Nathan must choose to either follow his heart or complete the job.

Love can come when you least expect it. The question is: If the odds are stacked against you, how far are you willing to go for the one you love?

Ashton has a list and one of her tasks is to have a one-night stand with a stranger. In the podunk town of Woodfalls, everyone knows everyone. So when Ashton sets her sights on Mr. Tall, Dark and Handsome aka Nathan Lockton, all she expects (and hopes for) is a night of passion and no-attachments. But Nathan is not a stranger. There are many things I liked about No Attachments.

Ashton is far from seductive and graceful. She is sweet, endearing, and you can’t help but want the best for her. Throughout the novel she is constantly getting into situations due to her two left feet. I found myself laughing and feeling so embarrassed for her.

Nathan, well he is certainly a charmer. He is flirtatious but also really sweet, despite the circumstances. I just have a few problems with him.

First, his age. Nathan is 29, but I kept feeling like he was the same age as Ashton. I’m not sure if it was his pet names for her, or his dialogue in general, but I kept forgetting that he was supposed to be older. I would have liked for his character to have been a little more mature.

I also thought the plot twist in No Attachments was pretty interesting as well. What I expected after reading the synopsis, and what I got, were two different things. I had figured out what the “secret” was early on, but it didn’t take away my enjoyment for how it turned out.The characters were cute and the storyline dealt with a sensitive subject without the intensity that usually leaves me feeling bummed out.

I liked No Attachments. Some parts were a little predictable, and the dialogue was a little cheesy at times but it didn’t ruin my overall experience. I just wished it would have been a little more developed in terms or story and characters.

I really loved the build up and tension and banter between this couple. A lovely storyline. When obstacles and serious plot elements (trying to say this without spoilers) emerged, however, I yearned for a deeper point of view, how each person reacted and/or felt to each new revelation. That's the only reason i'm giving 4 stars and not 5. Overall it was a great book.
