This book blew me away! I cannot stop thinking about it! Hunter and Rania’s story touched my heart. I absolutely loved this book!

In the middle of a war zone, love blossoms.

This is a wonderful book. The story line is like no other I've ever read. Rania is an Iraqi girl who from a very young age had to learn how to survive death, hunger and the war. With her whole family dead, and with a lack of means to provide for herself she is forced to make an awful decision that will help her very precarious situation, but will damage her spirit forever. Sometimes it takes a Wounded person to help and save another Wounded person.

This isn't a story about how a boy and a girl fall in love... no, it is not. That would be too easy and life isn't easy. So, that plot line wouldn't work because it wouldn't pull at your heart strings, it wouldn't make your soul soar, and it definitely wouldn't make you incessantly flip each page to read about how the boy got the girl. This story is one brought upon by many variables that should distance the main charac Sometimes it takes a Wounded person to help and save another Wounded person.

This isn't a story about how a boy and a girl fall in love... no, it is not. That would be too easy and life isn't easy. So, that plot line wouldn't work because it wouldn't pull at your heart strings, it wouldn't make your soul soar, and it definitely wouldn't make you incessantly flip each page to read about how the boy got the girl. This story is one brought upon by many variables that should distance the main characters, Rania and Hunter. First off, Hunter is an American military man... someone who kills Rania's kind in the name of war. On top of that, Rania is a prostitute. She sells her body in order to survive because the only person she is used to helping her is herself. And let's not forget the barrier brought on by their differing languages.

Rania risked everything when she rescued an American man who was shot and Wounded but through her actions she not only heals his physical wounds but together they heal each other's emotional wounds as well. But will she learn that he's helped her heal what's inside of her in time or will it be too late?

You'll need a box of kleenex, some chocolate, and a glass of wine to read this novel. It's a tear jerker. It made me cry because I was hurting for the two characters and it made me cry because of how happy I was that they were finally happy. Rania and Hunter both had hard lives and were dealt crumby cards but they never folded - they never gave up - and that is a sign of true strength. They both continued to live and did so fighting tooth and nail to do it when most people would give up. They needed their HEA and I'm glad they got it.

Rania is a heroine that I not once felt guilty about loving. She is truly a survivor in the absolute sense of the word. She's faced so much death, has seen things many people have only heard or read about and still manages to be herself. She doesn't lose who she is, even when she's forced to turn to prostitution to keep working. In fact, she bottles up who she is and separates it from what she does. She doesn't let what she does become who she is, even though she tries to make herself and Hunter believe that what she does is who she is. Rania is a person whose heart is pure and whose soul is made of gold. She risked so much to save Hunter, possibly her own death if she was caught aiding him, and yet she felt like it was the right thing to do.

Hunter is 100% Alpha Male and makes you swoon from the get go. His need and want to take care of Rania and protect her and possess her in a way that is different from the men that possess her on a day to day basis makes your heart melt and your heart beat quicken. If you can't fall in love with Hunter, a sexy Marine who has more heart than ten guys put together then you're probably crazy - because really... he's my new book boyfriend. (Need I say anymore?)

Reading Wounded will do everything but wound your heart. In fact, I dare say that this novel can heal a wounded heart. ...more

Not your run of the mill romance. The first part of this was slowwww. But I stuck with it because I had read great reviews. Once Hunter is introduced it picks up. I liked the dynamic between them. They were both in places physically and emotionally they did not want to be, did not have any reason to trust each other, but they did. This is worth getting though the first part to get to the what I thought was the good stuff.
