Okay, this was fantastical- just as good as the first for me... I just couldn't put it down once I started it! I was a nervous wreck through a lot of the book (especially the last 25-30%) but it ended in a way I was happy with and left me wanting more... a third book please?!? I didn't think I could dislike Jack and Beckah anymore than I did at the end of Avoiding Commitment. Boy, was I wrong. I felt so sorry for Lexi during K.A. Linde's sequel, Avoiding Responsiblity. Lexi was once again thrust into some very emotionally charged situations. If not for the support of her BFF Chyna and her new found friend, Ramsey, Lexi could have found herself headed down the same path yet again.

AHHHHH! Yup that is my reaction. This book starts up months after Lexi left Jack in the dust. She has done amazing in cutting his toxicity out of her life. That is until a phone call from Ramsey inviting her to be his date to Beckah’s and Jack’s wedding…..

Cue kicking and screaming!!!!

There were moments I wanted to throw me kindle out the window and yet I LOVED every second of it. Jack is still Jack. Sexy, dangerous and so damn selfish. Yes I still love him and so does Lexi…

I love that quote more than life itself. I think anyone that has been in a relationship that has ended experiences that. Some wounds no matter how much time has elapsed still feel fresh. For Lexi I always believe that regardless of what history she and Jack share the love that was between them doesn’t end because they do. And that is what makes their story so painful.

“I want to escape with you, Jack.”"I’ll always be your escape, Lex.”

Ok so let’s get off my Jack bandwagon and discuss Ramsey….

So Ramsey since the 1st book has felt ‘off’ to me. There was something about him that put my guard up almost immediately. Without giving the plot away I understand why I felt that way towards him. He has some big skeletons flying out of his closet. And one of them happens to be Parker, his ex-girlfriend that resembles Lexi so much it borderlines creepy. But I don’t dislike Ramsey, quite the opposite. He is flawed but he definitely has me toeing the line of ‘Team Jack’ to ‘Team Ramsey’. If only they shared a polygamous relationship….just kidding! Well maybe…

“Lexi, it is for you. I’m working to make things better for you.”

And our best gal pal Chyna is back and with a boyfriend! I know it is shocking considering her myriad of daddy issues but Chyna has grown up a lot since the last book. Unfortunately her boyfriend is hiding and skeleton in his closet that Lexi is all too familiar with….by I digress.

This book was another winner from K.A. Linde. I LOVE her characters, well except Beckah. I LOVE to hate her. Be prepared for a steamy angst filled book of love, deception and hopefully come book three a possible redemption for my beloved Jack.

I waited MONTHS for Avoiding Responsibility, I read AC back in July, and I fell head over heels for jerkface Jack. So with that said, read this review knowing that this girl is Team Jack 99.9%...

Except for that 1% I have to give to Ramsey for being sexy and loving Lexi..

Let me say I went into this book, holding out hope that the reviews of AR from those who were fans of the story when it was posted on a previous site, a while back before being taken down so the author (who is freaking amazing I might add) It was said that Jack marries Bekah and that Ramsey and Lexi end up together. That alone made me not want to read, I was so set in my ways of loving Jack even if he was a cheating little liar, I felt in my reading little heart that he loved Lexi and she loved him. I didn't want to read another book that would pull them away from each other and not give me what I wanted. I wanted to live in my fictional little head and pretend that Jack and Lexi got their Happily ever after..The author stated she had made changes and I wouldn't know one way or another because I never read the story previously posted. I held out hope something could change and swing in Jack's favor, even if I knew deep down more people were team Ramsey and the odds were not in my favor

I read it anyway.. All day today I spent telling my kids I would give them whatever they wanted to let mommy please finish the book..

Let me start by saying, the story jumps around from present day, to past which covers the year after Lexi left Jack at the airport, Lexi screwing a Mystery Man, and Ramsey begging her to attend Jacks wedding. She will not go to that wedding, no way and to be honest who can blame her. She spent years of her life in love with a man who screwed her over and never knew what he wanted.

This is the point where I pause and pretend to know what I am talking about. I am going to pretend, that Jack has always really loved Lexi and that he wants to be with her, I will pretend because I have to, that Jack would marry Lexi in a heartbeat if he could get past all the stuff in his head that makes him broken as he is. I want to say I really believed Jack would have changed for her, if they didn't have the distance and the mistrust and whatever else you want to throw in there. I pretend they could have been madly in love forever and that Jack is made for her, because it makes me feel good..

End of that.. Ramsey, can't get her to attend, but Jack can, it doesn't matter how he finally gets her to attend. You see that. It is just the pull that Jack has over Lexi that gets her to go. We go back and forth from the wedding week to Ramsey and Lexi's relationship to the relationship between Lexi's BFF Chyna (who I LOVE) and Adam. It bounces around, I loved it, at times I would forget what was covered before we would jump back into past/present but it always sorted itself out. Ramsey has baggage, major baggage with Parker, and that baggage alone and his attempt to keep it from Lexi, made me feel deep down that Ramsey no matter how handsome and perfect he is portrayed in his own way, is no better than Jack. We can all agree Jack is a cheater, and he sucks basically, but Ramsey and his little lies bothered me too. And how easily they were all just rubbed under the carpet. I guess I kind of wanted Lexi to make a bigger deal out of them, but I see that she really couldn't.
I could go on for hours on how much I hate Bekah (she is Satan in human form fyi) I will just say, I am praying that her and Jack get divorced, which can I ask anyone actually reading this.. Did they really even get married I think I was a bit confused on if that took place?

I can see both sides of the fence with Lexi, Jack she loved, she wanted for so long, he was her heart for such a large part of her life. Then there is Ramsey, he is safe and he loves her and he doesn't hurt her. But he kind of does in little ways, so it was hard for me. This whole book was hard for me because I love jack so much. That doesn't mean again I don't see how slimy he could be, it was just me wishing something could be done to change it so that he and Lexi could be together. I kept thinking we would see Ramsey cheat on Lexi with Parker I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop and it didn't. I just hate feeling like the Jack/Lexi door is nailed shut now. it kind of hurts LOL

I have told you a million times I suck at reviews, I will tell you a million and one times that I love K.A. Linde and I LOVE this series and I still love Jack. I can't wait to read more, even if I will be kicking like a toddler on my kitchen floor that her and Ramsey are together and I didn't get my Team Jack win.. I will read much more from her in the future.. ...more

Book one I was Team Jack.
Book two I started off Team Mystery Man, then turned Team Ramsey and still can't help but have hope for Jack.

And now to hear there is a book three?

Crap.

I couldn't help but be proud of Lexi this time around. She didn't take crap. Not from Bekah (okay well not all the time) and not from Jack. Her heart still reacted to Jack but she fought it.

I liked this book better than the first probably because it had more Ramsey...YUM. There were a few twists I didn't see coming and a surprises when I thought I knew what was coming and then.....WHAAAA? Not a super satifying ending.
