I love mob stories and this one was a different from other crime mob books I have previously read. It involved a slave that 4.5 Stars

I love mob stories and this one was a different from other crime mob books I have previously read. It involved a slave that was sold from one mob family to another. Haven is not sold as a sex slave, but as a servant to the mob family of DeMarco.
Vincent DeMarco has 2 sons. Dominic and Carmine. Dominic is just a good person and protective of Haven. Carmine is the family troublemaker and womanizer. He has no problem not following his father’s rules or anyone’s rules for that matter. He loves and cares for no one but himself. That is until Haven moves into his home. Slowly Carmine begins to notice Haven. Not only her looks but he sees how beautiful this girl is in the inside. She has no anger, she feels no hate. She is the complete opposite of Carmine who is all attitude and trouble. A relationship develops between Carmine and Haven and as they begin to think of a future together, they learn there are other plans for them besides running away and living a life outside the mob.

This book is written in third person but we get a few different characters POV. I thought it would be hard to follow, but it was written very well. The author did an amazing job with telling the story. We not only get a glimpse of Carmine and Haven’s lives, but of Carmine’s father, Vincent. We see what he has to deal with and maybe the life he leads is not one he wanted.
I really liked the characters in this book from Haven, Carmine, Dominic to Tessa and Dia.

I can’t believe that I have had this book in my Kindle forever and just read it now!! Why did I wait so long. It was an amazing read. I highly recommend if you love a good romantic mob/crime/suspense story.

What more can I say about this book that hasn't already been said? I loved it. My heart was breaking for Haven throughout the whole book. Poor girl could not catch a break. It was devestating the problems she had to deal with for simply just being alive. I LOVED Carmine. He was just as broken as Haven and the love between the two of them gave me butterflies.

Amazing book. It beats the shit out of you with every page. That lump in your throat is always there and you're not sure if it's happiness, anger, shock, the big ball of tears that you can't let escape because you're afraid for the characters or if it's just every emotion compiled into one waiting to unleash itself when something happens. One of my 2012 favorites!!!!! LOVED CARMINE, loved Haven and even Vincent. I'm not sure how I feel about a book 2. I am perfectly content as a stand-alone. I want to believe in my heart of hearts Haven and Carmine were able to have their forever and Haven finally is FREE!!
