Colpo di fulmin. The thunderbold, as Italians call it. When love strikes someone like lightening, so powerful and intense it can’t be denied. It’s beautiful and messy, cracking a chest open and spilling their soul out for the world to see. It turns a person inside out, and there’s no going back from it. Once the thunderbolt hits, your life is irrevocably changed.”

I love mob stories and this one was a different from other crime mob books I have previously read. It involved a slave that

What more can I say about this book that hasn't already been said? I loved it. My heart was breaking for Haven throughout the whole book. Poor girl could not catch a break. It was devestating the problems she had to deal with for simply just being alive. I LOVED Carmine. He was just as broken as Haven and the love between the two of them gave me butterflies.

If you have ever sat and watched Godfather, Casino, Goodfellas, heck any Mafia movie, you will LOVE this book!

Amazing book. It beats the shit out of you with every page. That lump in your throat is always there and you're not sure if it's happiness, anger, shock, the big ball of tears that you can't let escape because you're afraid for the characters or if it's just every emotion compiled into one waiting to unleash itself when something happens. One of my 2012 favorites!!!!! LOVED CARMINE, loved Haven and even Vincent. I'm not sure how I feel about a book 2. I am perfectly content as a stand-alone. I want to believe in my heart of hearts Haven and Carmine were able to have their forever and Haven finally is FREE!!

“How about we just be Haven and Carmine?” she suggested. “We don’t know the ending, but we can always hope for the best.”
“I like that,” he said. “Besides, there’s a reason we don’t know how the story ends.”
“Why?”
“Because it doe

Haven and Carmine

Does slavery still exist in the 21st century? The answer to this is yes... Haven has been a slave since birth and has recently been sold and moved to live with her new master Dr. DeMarco. She believes she's going to be living the same life as she had before but things are drastically different. She has a room, a bed, a shower, clothes, and his two sons speak to her. Can hope truly exist in Haven's dismal life? Because right now it seems like hope is alive and well and burning to
