This book totally surprised me by how easily it pulled me into the story and made me care about what happened to Layken & Will. The emotional pull of the two star-crossed young lovers was very realistic and compounded by the events of the other story in the book surrounding Lake's mother. I think the thing I loved most about the book was the poetry tho - so emotional & raw & intense.

I cannot get over how much I loved this book. Colleen Hoover has a wicked sense of humor, but she is also a master at emotional turmoil. Lake is a great character and I really appreciated the author's brazen take on the star crossed lovers and the obsticles she dropped in their path. I laughed uproariously many times and often screamed obscenities out loud while reading Slammed...moving right along to the sequel immediately! ...more

I've read this book twice now and there is just no way for me to write a good review for it, so I'll make this brief.

Slammed is phenomenal. I love the characters, the story, the writing, and poetry. It's a book full of emotions and life lessons. It's a book that hooks the reader from the beginning and doesn't let go. I love absolutely everything about it! Slammed is just a beautiful, heartfelt, and pretty much perfect book.

There's not many books that land in your lap, where you can truly say its a literary masterpiece, well... that is, until now!

Lake is a great HEA and Will, well he could have me eating out the palm of his hand!

I devoured this book in a day, it's a real page-turner and had me laughing out loud, and shedding a few tears at the end. If you want something original and simply beautiful, then read this book! ...more

I don't think I could possibly think of a more perfect man than Will! He is just the most real and honest character I have had the pleasure of reading about. Lake is such a strong character in her own right and deals with her struggles in the best way she can. I love how she expresses her anger in such a real and passionate way. This book had me so torn into pieces for these two people...all you can think about is how much you want them to be together. I laughed and cried...and loved this book! ...more
