What a great period novel! Great historical research. I learned more about my city--which is always a big plus in a book. My father and I were both born in Los Angeles. He lived thru this time period and I grew up knowing about how the city has evolved. I had always known of the Red Cars, but this book gave me the Yellow Cars. Every time I ran across something I didn't know I googled it, a facinating read for me. It truly would make a great film noir. I look forward to reading more of Doyle and
