[close] Oh my. Being gay can be an excruciating experience with a light at the end of the tunnel that must seem invisible almost forever. The author of this autobiographical book went through hell and somehow emerged with his soul and his ability to love intact. In light of the circumstances of his life, this was a great accomplishment, as is this book. Be prepared to cry, be outraged, love the author, pray for him (if that's something you do) and hope, hope, hope that someday humans will not put other humans through such experiences. A book not to be missed.
