I really enjoyed this book.
The romance between the MCs take a backseat to the murder mystery.
Sam Kennedy is called in to investigate a murder that bears a remarkable resemblance to a serial murder that he solved a decade before.
Jason West is sent in to keep an eye on Sam.
The investigation is good. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I didn't have a clue as to whodunnit until the reveal at the end.
The ending is HFN.
The only bad thing about the book is having to wait intil winter 2017 for book 2

The thing I love about Josh Lanyon mysteries is they keep you guessing right up until the end. I totally had this one figured out, or so I thought. Once again I was Surprised, didn't see that one coming. I also love that Lanyon's books focus more on the mystery and less on the romance, especially if it's a series; Lanyon tends to build slowly on the relationship through several books. This was another book I kept putting off. I’m not sure why because this was a fantastic read. I thought both main characters were lovable in their own right but I also loved how they were with each other. The romance was great but this was also a well written mystery that kept you guessing and while you have many suspicions you really don’t get any confirmation until the end. The balance between romance and mystery was done rather well.

I loved it.

I usually (but not always) have the same thought on most Josh Lanyon books.
The mystery is usually great. The romance is just a bonus. It's not the focus.
I felt the spark, and have hope for their future.
I like that when Josh Lanyon has series, that the romance builds over several books.
It feels more natural. I look forward to the next one in this series...and to the romance building.

I really had no idea who did it, until Jason figured it out. I liked being kept guessing.

Great start to
