4.5 stars. Great book with a spunky (though impulsive) heroine, an unusual paranormal skill, a serial killer and some romance.

I read the 4th book, Dead Silence in 2024. It felt like there might still be another book in the series. But completed series for now.

If you have not read this book yet I would highly recommend it. It's a nice change of pace from the vampire-werewolf-faerie craze that has been running rampant through the YA book world lately. I hate to sound like I'm gushing but I really enjoyed this book and devoured it in no time. I loved the romantic tension between Jay and Violet and it was so sweet watching them interact together even just as best friends. With a title like that, I expected mystery and horror. The Body Finder delivered this but I found it took the back seat towards the second half of the book. The relationship between Violet and her childhood and best friend Jay was the main event. Not that I'm complaining because their chemistry was apparent from the beginning and it was sweet reading about their love blossoming. I honestly wasn’t expecting to like this book as much as I do now. I am practically dying for the sequel to be in my hands at this very moment. The Body Finder is the perfect YA book.

What an amazing book. I was mesmerized by Violet and Jay's relationship and her strange gift. Violet can sense the dead, she sees or hears echoes from the dead that call to her. Only her family and her best friend, Jay, know about this gift. She is about to need all the support she can get from the people that know about her as her gift leads her to a body of a dead girl and ultimately it will land her into danger.
