A new-to-me-author who was highly recommended by a friend. This is the first book in "The Remembrance" trilogy. An absolutely breathtaking and unforgettable love story. I couldn't stop reading from the time I started until I finished a few minutes ago. And wouldn't you know it, I can't get the second book until who knows when. And then there's a third book, too. Warning: there's a huge cliffhanger at the end and I know this bothers lots of readers. For me, this book was magical and no matter whe ...more

Kahlen Aymes'"The Future of Our Past" is a page turner I couldn't put down. Julia and Ryan are hopelessly in love and struggle with what many young people face as they are growing their careers and their relationship. Their relationship is founded on deep friendship and respect and develops into one of the hottest, steamiest and passionate love stories that I have ever read. Aymes' ability to describe her characters, their lives and relationships, is spot on, and made a believer out of me. This ...more

WARNING: Contains one very hot and very heart meltingly loveable leading man!!:D

Well the first word that springs to my mind when thinking about this book is 'WOW!', secondly, I would like to say that it made a really nice change to pick up a book (or in my case, my kindle) and fall into the depths of those emotions of that first 'one true love' bittersweet despair.

For those of us who have been fortunate enough to know what its like to be in love; to remember that moment when it completely consum

Finished this book last night and would give this book about 3 1/2 stars. For one reason and one reason only, the book had no substance, couple get together and finding it hard being apart, then we are three years on down the line without a 'three years later' heading. I feel that book one and book two should have been one whole book, it would have made for a far better story as the ending in book one leads into the beginning of book two and this could easily have been the middle of the story.

I

I love this book to pieces. In the future it will be one of my "go to" book. The feeling of passion, romance and pure love between Ryan & Julia was palpable through the whole book. The book was so good I did not want it to end. I am sitting on pins and needles waiting for the next installment of Ryan & Julia's story. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a book to get lost in. It's the best. ...more

I liked the two main characters in this book, Ryan and Julia. Their devotion to one another is inspiring and I like their mature relationship without the stupid miscommunication.
What I did not like about this story:
I hate to say it, but there was a lot of sex which would be ok except it seemed to act as a filler at times. Also, Julia seemed to be brought to tears over everything. At first it was heartwarming, then it became slightly annoying. Too many I love you's and I miss you's also.
