It's been a while since I've read a book with vampires in it and I really enjoyed this one. It's different from the usual romance I can read. I liked the plot and at first I wasn't sure in what I was diving into since I couldn't remember the blurb. The only negative part I can think of for now, is that the ending felt rushed to me. I loved the touch of romance in it and I really wish that we had more of it especially at the end but it was already over and I wanted more. That disappointed me but ...more

Why did I wait so long to finally read this?? I admit, I bought this release day. I let it sit inside my kindle unread for three months. Mostly it was because I'm getting a bit tired of the same old vampire stories that seem to bleed together until I can't quite remember what book was what. Well, that was not the case with The Coldest Girl in Coldtown.

This actually reminded me a bit of The Walking Dead. One bite is enough to infect someone. Oh, they won't die right away, they'll manage a blood

After a reread.

I think I enjoyed this even more after a second read. I remembered enough to know what I was getting into but not the actual story beats. I especially love Tana. She is a great protag and I just like her spirit.
I've not read much Holly Black but this makes me want to read more. I really enjoy the world building, characters and how gritty it gets. It's brutal, seductive and desperate - just like Coldtown.

I still have mixed feelings over the end of the book as I just want more and

I regret not reading this earlier, but I'm so glad I finally read it because this was absolutely brilliant.

The characters are so absolutely amazing. Tana is a strong character who is still worried and freaking out about her situation. Gavriel is like my favorite character haha. He is so cool, but so messed up. Aiden, even though not my favorite, was written well (and perhaps dressed to impress my teenage self). There was so many different characters and lives in play, it was really interesting

From the moment I picked this book up I just couldn't put it down! Holly Black just loves to write about romances that seem almost completely improbable and that's why I love her books. Tana manages to see beneath Gavriel's exterior to the humanity that's still inside him and loves him for that alone. The twist that Ms. Black put on vampirism was unique and brilliant. So many authors write about vampires in the same fashion, but she managed to put a spin on it that was completely different. My o ...more
