What Members Thought
This is a hard one to rate because it is actually two books in one. One is the story of Rill, a girl from a very poor 1930s 'boat family' and Avery a modern-day would-be senator from a family of privilege. While I found Rill's story interesting, I thought the book fell apart a little in Avery's story. She just was not that interesting of a character and her plot of first world problems sat in an odd contrast with what Rill was going through.
