I read this after seeing the show on Broadway. It was horrible (the book, not the show...Wicked! was great...I've seen it twice and hope to again).
I could see where the script came from, but it had to take a lot of dredging to make a light heartwarming story out of something so depressing and sad. The idea was great. I didn't like the politics, the storyline, the descriptions, the melancholy of it all.
Maybe if I'd read the book only and not enjoyed the delight of the show I would have appreciate ...more
