I think I read this in around 7th grade, maybe earlier. I remember liking it more than anything I'd been forced to read in school. It had been so long I really didn't remember the book at all. This was an awesome book! I loved it SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much. It was really intense, and kind of hard to get into at the beginning, but after you read like 5 chapters, it gets really good. I would recommend it for 6th grade and up because not only is it kind of a hard read, but there's a lot of adult content. Still, probably one of the best books I've ever read. :) ...more

This is an important book for beginning to understand closed and bigoted cultures. This should be required reading for all American high school students.
