Things Fall Apart is an excellent portrayal of the tribal cultures of Nigeria before they were truly colonized. The book focuses primarily on the life of one man and his family as he struggles within his own world, and ultimately his clan struggles against the European Christians who have come to convert and control. Although the customs may seem misguided and primitive to some readers, they definitely serve to show how different we peoples are.
