Another brilliant novel from the master of historical fiction Edward Rutherfurd who takes five French families from the middle ages to modern times blending their stories with the well loved icons of Paris and historical events The number of characters and generations take a few chapters to set up but once he starts weaving the threads together the final result is a total engrossing novel which fully explores the rich history of the City of Lights.

I enjoyed this book. Similar to his other novels. An in depth look at the city of Paris through the ages, told through the eyes of different characters. Well written.
