I loved this book! It was very easy to read and made me laugh out loud at times - Don's obviously sincere but misguided attempts in social situations (including his narrative) were sad at times, but mostly just amusing. I'm not sure that I could live with him - I think he'd frustrate me no end!!

Not normally something I'd pick up, but I was googling books with interesting and diverse characters and THE ROSIE PROJECT was on several lists.
And....I loved it.
Don is a character I liked, laughed with, bit my finger nails over and finally grew to love. I so enjoyed the first person writing that put me up close and personal with the inner life of someone with Aspergers. While I know Don is just a character, he gave me lots to think about and made me question what's so wonderful about being norm ...more

What a great fast read. Don is such an interesting character ... he is a mixture of Sheldon Cooper (from The Big Bang Theory) and Richard Poole (from Death in Paradise). Pedantic, structured ... unable to understand social situations and cues. This deficiency however provides an interesting narrative or different perspective on situations and is quite humorous and sometimes uncomfortably correct. I am hanging out to read the next one.

This book was a lot of fun!
I felt like it started off slowly, I didn't really think much of it until the last half, at which point I flew through it and really saw why people have been raving about it so much.
I ended up really liking Don and really wanted the couple to end up together- I knew they would, since there's a sequel, but still... I was looking forward to it. I really enjoyed watching Don's prejudices breaking down and see him questioning his feelings, learning how to behave and show ...more

It seems that a lot of people loved this book, but I wasn't one of them. Sure, there were some funny moments and the writing was slick, but it just wasn't a hit for me. I wasn't surprised in the least to read in the notes from the author that this was originally written as a screenplay. It will probably make a very enjoyable rom com one day.

Love love loved this. Couldn't give 'The Rosie Project' anything less than five stars for its delightful quirky humour and page turning power. A 'romantic comedy' of true originality. A quick, light read that touches the heart. Why oh why didn't I grab the follow-up at the same time?! I want to know what Don does next!
