I am so glad that Gleitzman decided to write this book. The gap between the second and third books left a lot of unanswered questions. This whole series is amazing and makes a difficult topic accessible for children. This series is not sunshine and roses, it doesn't shy away from the truths of what this time was like for people. The violence, hurt and anger are all there, but throughout it all there is hope. It is a series that adults and children (10+?) should read. ...more
