This is a GR giveaway title, one I received some time ago, and it got buried in my enormous TBR pile! I will start it within the next day or so..
This book was totally out of my ‘comfort zone’ in what I usually read, but I really enjoyed it.

I especially liked the beginning of this novel and while it didn't proceed the way that I expected, it was a journey into the fantastic. I particularly like the Australian and other references that were slightly off-centre. There is also a thread of satire that runs through the story. If you like witches, talking elephants and other strange characters then this book is for you.
