I’ve had An Independent Woman on my kindle since mid-2012 and am really glad I’ve finally read it. And I loved it. The story centres around Kitty Morland and her mother Bella who both had to leave London in 1878, in somewhat of a hurry, heading to Australia to meet up with Kitty’s brother Robert. They had great plans, but their arrival saw them being unable to find Robert, with the dreadful news eventually reaching them of his demise.
