I was one of the lucky few who recieved an advance copy to review from the Publishing company Random House Australia (thank you Dorothy.) When I recieved it, I was jumping up and down in such excitement. After reading Burn Bright, I'd been looking forward to the next installment for awhile. Yay!!

That's book 5 down in the AWWC! Halfway there. (Well, slightly more than halfway, as I've reviewed three and only need to review a minimum of four.)
I found this better than the first instalment - three and a half stars, really, and I suspect that if you're more the intended audience you might rate it higher. After some patches near the beginning that I found were a little clichéd/under-written, the central action of the book rolled along well. I really liked the imagery of city built on a forgot ...more

Angel Arias felt more like the middle of a book and not the second book in a trilogy if that makes sense? If it was turned into a movie, it would easily take less than an hour screen time where being it's own book, it should at least take an hour and a half. All the wonder and fascination I felt in the first is gone but as it picked up where Burn Bright left and finishes where the next will start so it is necessary. I gobbled up the moments with Lenoir like chocolate on a bad day and ...more
