Cliff Hardy used to be a private detective, but has lost his licence. He is engaged by a lawyer to find a missing, presumed dead, financial advisor who had stolen all Cliff’s money. He is working with a police officer who is heading up a Chinese Lebanese crime unit. Cliff is beaten and almost killed by members of the Chinese and Lebanese crime families. There are murders, corruption and kidnapping, but Cliff gets his man in the end. A gritty, easy read.
