Quick Thoughts: An engaging and Phenomenal Conclusion.

Words- I need them to describe my love of this book to you all, but it feels as though it is one of those moments when its a struggle to find the right ones. Simply put - this book was a phenomenal conclusion to the Uglies Trilogy. My only regret was taking three years to actually get to pick the book up.

In Specials we see the great build up and finally learn about the consequences of Tally Youngbloods monstrous ego. I don’t know why it took me this long to see, but Tally is a one hell of a self-absorbed character and yet I loved reading about her especially in specials. I felt that she was utterly and truly vulnerable even being as strong as she was and that made the reading all the more engaging and exciting. To see everything being taken away, torn and shattered was dizzy-making and there were so many scenes that literally had my heart pumping so fast I could not turn the pages fast enough.

All the characters, and their progression to this fantastic conclusion added so much depth and horrific sadness to the overall turn of events. I still felt so torn, pulled back and forth like a rag doll trying to decide what side I was on and trying to imagine what was happening to their world while realizing that it rang so true to today’s modern world itself that it chilled me to the core.

There was a certain scene in the book that had me sobbing so hard that I had to send several text messages to like minded friends because I just had to know if I was crazy or not. It was one of the single most heart wrenching scenes in the book and it just about killed me to the point that I was not sure I could read on, but I did and I am just amazed at how phenomenal this series as a collective was.

I won’t say too much more. I believe it is one of those books to read for yourself and if you haven’t picked up the first one “Uglies” do not hesitate. It is hands down a captivatingly insane ride and a fantastic dystopian that will always have its place on my favorites shelf ...more

This was such a great ending to Tally's story it was just so awesome.

Specials is the 3rd book in the Uglies series where we see Tally Youngblood now turned into a Special. With Shay she is hellbent on catching the Smokies particularly David and bring them back to be changed whether they like it or not. But the old Tally is still lingering there not ready to quit yet.

This world just gets more and more amazing each book. Reading from Tally as a Special was just amazing. Specials remind me of human ...more
