“I am untouchable. Unnamable. I can walk through walls. Locks crumble in my hands. The pins are like musical keys with a different tone and timbre as the pick passes over them. Listen. That's the final note. The door opens.”
That’s the internal monologue of the guy Professor Joe O’Loughlin is trying to figure out. Women are dying, ostensibly by suicide, but Joe is a psychologist, and facts aren’t adding up.

When Professor Joseph O’Loughlin was asked to assist on the Clifton Suspension Bridge with talking to a woman who was going to jump, he had no idea the trauma and life changing events that he would set in place by agreeing. Unable to stop the woman, her tears and desperation buried deep in his mind, he was shocked to find the woman’s sixteen year old daughter at his door a few days later. Darcy did her best to convince Joe that her mother wouldn’t have committed suicide – she was terrified of he

This was my first read or 2019 and it was a great one to start the year with! A bit gritty since we are given such insight into the way that the murderer thinks! It's been too long since I read the first book in this series so I couldn't remember some of the things that were alluded to from that book! I'll have to make sure I don't leave it so long in between before I read another in the series! ...more

"It’s eleven o’clock in the morning, late September, and outside it’s raining so hard that cows are floating down rivers and birds are resting on their bloated bodies."

Another solid addition to this series. I am enjoying both the plot/mystery aspects as well as the character development. Interesting to have such a flawed MC - a psychologist who knows (and not knows) his issues and the reasons behind the things he does - and yet he is only human and cannot stop himself. Also good to have a MC that has a degenerative disease to grapple with - and the author does a good job of getting inside the MC's head and explaining the changes, the fears...etc.

I really enjoyed the writing style and characterizations in this book but the plot just had too many incidents of stupid behavior. It was very suspenseful though and the narration of the audio by Sean Barrett was top notch.

Warning: this book must be read with all the lights on and a man or a large dog in the house. I have not been so freaked out by a book in a long time. Seriously scary, this book is possibly the most brilliant psychological thriller I have ever read. I still shudder from time to time thinking about it ... wondering what I'd do if I was faced with such a situation ... and determined to keep my children closer than ever ... Chilling, powerful and utterly superbly written. Highly recommended for the

It's a terrific story but I find it hard to get involved with the characters, frankly, I don't really like any of them other than Ruiz. Great stories make this series readable butI find the actions and personalities of the key characters frustrating so the story is harder to get through. My patience is wearing thin with Joseph et al.

Unexpected twists and turns along with a fascinating look into the mind of a horrific killer keep the reader on the edge of their seat as Shatter comes to its exciting and satisfying conclusion. To read my review in its entirety, please visit http://www.bookreviewsandmorebykathy....

With each book in this series I pick up, I like these characters more and more. Michael Robotham sure does put them through the wringer! This book was really edge of your seat stuff, I listened to the last 5 hours in one sitting it was that gripping.
