I have no words.....but I'll find some to describe this book to you.
Yesturday afternoon I started reading "Stolen" by Lucy Christopher.I got a text from my sister a month back which read : "Stolen by Lucy Christopher...buy it"
So I did.....It arrived last week.
I devoured 100 pages in one sitting, then took a short break to acknowledge the existence of my partner before he went to work - night shift - then sped through another 100 pages. With 90 pages left to go, I didnt get that early night I want

After reading Stolen I tried to picture myself in her shoes. We are the same age so thinking from the perspective of a teenager is not a problem. I wanted the happy ending where she ended up with him. It's been a while since I've read a book from cover to cover, but wow, I could not put this book down. Every page had me wanting to turn the next and then the next, eager to find out more. Stolen was one of the most unique reads I've ever read; disturbing, confusing, complex, thought-provoking and lyrical. Told from Gemma's point of view in the form of a letter to her captor; this unusual format gives the reader an intimate perspective of Gemma's emotions during her captivity. Stolen was unputdownable, I read it in one sitting, reading through until 3am and the story has been on my mind a lot since finishing it.

As an Australian who has spent time in the outback, Lucy Christopher'

Great book!

Was a little slow at times but that is to be expected considering almost the entire book centers around just two people and the story is completely told in diary format.

It was interesting because the situation is completely plausible and relevant given the reported incidents of kidnappings lately. But one of the standout things for me was the descriptions of the Australian landscape. She really captured the harsh beauty of the Outback and the feeling of complete isolation that you fee
