Lord Angel, help my fallen soul if this is the last Aussie-authored book I read this year, and I do not have long to right this wrong (96 hours to be precise). Another disappointment in the YA genre, especially since the local hysteria about how Potter and Bella really ought to move over, because Steven Spielberg has snapped up the production rights for this debut novel.

Embrace was more than I expected, and I absolutely loved it.

Violet Eden’s life is turned upside down when she finds out that her best friend and man she is secretly in love with has been keeping a secret, about her. Violet is a Grigori, a half angel-half human protector of human kind against exiled angels, evil fallen angels that wish to control mankind.

My first read for 2015! I was happy that I’ve kickstarted the year with a fairly good read. It has taken me quite some time since I first heard a work colleague raved about it though. The good thing? I’ve 4 out 5 books so I don’t have to wait or anything like that, I can just plow through it all!
