Possibly my least favourite of Byrski's books, but still a good read with an interesting mix of characters. Ellis is so awful that he makes my skin crawl, & Heather's reaction to him is horrifying, but believable. It's lovely to read about the slow shifts in people's perceptions & needs, & the resettling of relationships during & after major & minor changes.
