Simon Murray loves footy, films and his friends. The order of preference might change, but those are the things at the heart of his life. That doesn’t mean that he isn’t a little lonely given that he has been single for a long time, but it is true that he might be a little afraid of being in a relationship anyway. A fabulous story, set in Melbourne and it felt perfectly right to this local.
The language, feel of the city and football references and culture were all perfect. I enjoyed it very much and all the more as it satisfied my parochial tendencies when I find a story set in my home city.
The story, characters and the other elements of the story were all very good too but I won't elaborate, as they're discussed by others. What I can emphasise is that it rang perfectly true. ...more
