Thank you to Harlequin Australia for sending me a copy of this book to review!

Set in Ballarat from around the 1930s to 1950s, Connie Starr who is the daughter of the Baptist priest and his second wife Flora, has always been a little different and a little difficult.

This book follows Connie, her family and other Ballarat locals during the war and the years after when the men have returned and life goes on - however with no one remaining unchanged.
