Wow, I am in awe... It's been really hard going to sleep at night for the past couple of nights because this book haunts me. Mostly, because I was completely drawn into the story and had to, literally, forced myself to put the book away for the night.

Reread, read originally before I was on Goodreads.
And just lovely on a reread. I opted to get a kindle version of this to save my hands from the thick book (though there's no way I'm getting rid of my paper versions of Marillier's books!).

With the sing-song lyrical writing style of Marillier and a plot that reads like a fable, this novel certainly feels like a fairy tale for grown-ups.
Love all of Juliet's books they are full of action, fantasy, romance and adventures, what more could you want

Had trouble with pacing, but it really dragged me in. I forgot where I was for long stretches at a time. Had freezing cold feet when the book went through winter, despite it being a 35 degree day.
