This is a brilliant, beautiful book for a mature teen who can appreciate 584 pages of extraordinary writing and handle its difficult subject matter. Well, everyone was right. Great story. Read many war books before, but this one was great in the way it was written and that it was written by Deaths perspective. When I started the book, I was worried about the excerpts that appeared, but it did not take long for me to enjoy them and look forward to them, as well as the summary/dot points at the beginning of the chapters.

Purchased following the recent Adelaide Writers' Festival where Markus Zusak was apparently a big hit, especially with the crumpled linen Burnside set. (These last 4 words borrowed from a newspaper review - but can't remember which one)

The Book Thief is absolutely amazing. Blew me away. It's instantly become an all-time favourite. It's so different, and insightful. I loved every bit of it.
