I loved this book from start to finish and was keen to get through as much as possible everytime I had chance to do some reading!
The story is compelling, the characters well written and engaging and the style highly readable yet still interesting and varied at times.
I enjoyed every minute of this book and would highly recommend it to anyone.

I really enjoyed The Book Thief which was completely unexpected. Beginning in 1939, The Book Thief focuses on topis I’m not keen on reading about including history, war and Nazi Germany.
From page one I was intrigued; the story is narrated by death who is speaking directly to the reader. The story does jump back and forth in time a little but the order of events is easy enough to follow.
As you would expect with a history/war/Nazi story there is death and loss throughout but it is absolutely wort ...more

I read it and the first couple of hundred pages were okay and it was not until the last couple of pages that I enjoyed the book. Then it just wrapped up really quickly and was like wtf.
I was not expecting anything and if the big hoo-ha about the book is who the supposed author is then it was not a big deal from my point of view.

Wow. This was quite an intense book. It was a book that I couldn't put down and yet I knew I didn't really want to get to the end because it would be upsetting - and it was. At least I can take comfort in the fact that the person who loaned me the book also cried on the train at the end. Just wow.

The trouble with a good book is that it pulls you in to the world of its characters, really makes you care about them, and then subjects them to the unspeakable. It upset me a lot, but I'm very glad I read it. Not the sort of book you can forget.

When I finished this book I needed another 20 minutes to stop the tears falling...I can honestly say that this book is not good; it's brilliant! I love how a book can stir the soul and leave its mark as if it physically touched you.

Gorgeous. Tragic. Unusual. I won't forget reading it... Ever.
