This was not my favourite book by this author, but it was absorbing and I now know more about tennis than I ever wanted to. Loved the rhythm of the story, especially the short paragraphs with anecdotes from minor/unseen characters. Liked the ending, but bit unsure about the arrival of COVID into the story, but suspect that will be common now, since it has been a major event in most peoples lives. Probably give this 4.5 stars if possible.

Enjoyed delving into the intricacies of the Delaney family.

A good read as usual from this author. Former tennis coaches Joy and Stan Delaney have sold their tennis school and are retired. They have 4 adult children, who are busy with their own lives. Joy has disappeared, and no one has any idea where she could have gone. It is unusual she has not told anyone she was going away. She sent a text message to her children but it does not make sense.
