Absorbing story and an absolute delight to read.
A great book, wonderfully written, spanning over a 100 years as 3 related women attempt to unravel their family secrets and discover their origins. The story jumps back and forth in time and between the different characters, but so smoothly that I always knew what was happening and felt deeply connected to all the characters. This book is one to truly immerse yourself in. Highly recommended.

Not a bad read, and certainly better than I expected for a historical mystery. The combination of 1900's London and Cornwall with a more modern Brisbane Australia almost almost didn't work for me - luckily the characters got interesting enough to stick with it. A lazy rainy weekend read.

I did enjoy the way the narration jumped around within the century until all (well, most) of the loose ends were tied but ultimately I prefer stories either completely real or completely fanciful. This was firmly wedged between the tw ...more
