This great factual work of Wurth's gives both stories, that of the Japanese and their plans to invade our country and how Curtin did his darndest to drop the British mantle of authority over us and call what he could of our men home and the Americans to save our bacon. Even Macarthur thought Churchill was a bit of a cur for not wanting our men to come home to protect the home shores. A jolly good read

I learned just how close we were to being invaded by the Japanese during World War Two. This well-researched work of Bob Wurth's included the Japanese side of the story, using that nation's official records. This is a very good historical work and well-researched. Wurth weaves the Japanese plans and Australia's fears together in revealing this great truth - we were almost invaded! ...more
