A rather grim tale about how three individuals--a magpie, a dog, and a fox--handle adversity. You can either accept what is and make something positive out of it, or you can resist change and let it embitter you. It had an apocalyptic feel to it because it was set in a burned-out forest and, later, in the desert, with no signs of life.
