I'm not one to read biographies but after coming across this, I thought "I like him as a comedian, might as well read the book!" I must say this is one biography I read from start to finish that I really had a hard time of putting down.

There are so many quotes I wanted to mark down, which I used my status update to do.. that I wanted to keep. Such a heartwarming and postive story about him and his family making the big change leaving Vietnam on a boat to come to Australia, and the journey he's

Ahn Do is an inspiration not only for succeeding under difficult circumstances but for loving people and not being the slightest bit ashamed for saying it and showing it. His humanity is the thing that stood out for me. This book is obviously not a polished piece of literature and I for one am glad about that because unlike many other memoirs this one rings true, open and honest. An easy read and one I would recommend to everyone.

Living near a migrant hostel in the 1970s, my mother decided to teach English to Vietnamese refugees. As part of this program, many refugee families were invited into our home. Anh Do tells his story with humour and an abundance of compassion. It's a book that had me laughing and cry

What a delightful read from one of Australia’s funniest comedians. He tells the story of how his family left Vietnam in a boat and made a life for themselves in Australia by working hard. It was easy to read, with tales of his extended family, and the many different jobs they had to make a living and a better life for their children in this new country.

Ang Do is on our screens and in our homes...but this is a carefully created history of the man and his family.
This book was written in 2010 and there has been so much that has happened since then that I almost hope he does a part two for his bio.
He makes me smile
