I'd read this Australian classic years ago, but couldn't remember it very well, so I thought it was time for a re-read. I hadn't realised that there were other books that followed on from it. I enjoyed this, although less so than some of the others I've read from this time period. I'm not sure whether I'll read any of the subsequent books - there are so many others calling my name!

Lovely piece of historical fiction. A great children's read.
