I liked this book and the trilogy a great deal; lots of imagination and folklore influences. However .. it suffers from a lack of detail and a good fleshing out of character.
For myself I wanted to know more information about places and people that was ever disclosed or discussed in the trilogy. I wanted to know why the Old Kingdom existed, why Ancelstierre existed, why they were seperate, why technology worked in one and not the other. Origins, history, people.
