With the way that Six Sacred Stones ended (talk about a cliffhanger!), this eagerly anticipated next chapter of Jack West Jr’s mission is just as gripping as one would have come to expect from Matthew Reilly.
I will admit I am probably biased seeing as I attended my first ever book signing when I bought this book =)
As per usual with the last 2 Jack West books, as I read I am keeping a list of things that interest me to google later when I have time. I know he is bending historical/scientific fac ...more

The Five Greatest Warriors is a globe spanning fantasy adventure epic disguised as a 'world outside your window conspiracy thriller'. Take this fiction with a grain of salt as Matthew Reilly adds a little bit of spice to the ancient wonders of the world and also enhances his characters with a hint of the supernatural (namely the ability to push through consecutive battles and still be a functioning human being). The energy that these books exude is extraordinary!
Not only are stories complex and intriguing but the characters have depth and humanity and we love spending time with them!

Jack is surprised when he is betrayed by people he trusted ... but he tells Zoe that his loyalty to her is forever.
Sky Monster gets a new plane to play with...
Jack gets new 'hideaway' ...
his mother can finally travel free ...more

As Reilly says in the interview at the end of the book, he tries to top himself with each book and "come up with the fastest, most out-of-control action-adventure stories imaginable." And it probably helps if you don't have an aversion to excess use of italics and exclamation marks (though there were fewer of these in this book than the previous two). I enjoyed the

The final chapter (I hope) of the Jack West Jr series. I thought the first two books in the series were implausible, but then I hadn't read the Five Greatest Warriors yet. It felt like Matthew Reilly had simply tried to come up with the most ridiculous scenarios he could and put them all in this book. And of course people survive the most unsurvivable situations without a scratch. I was truly hoping that Jack West Jr's end had come about as per the vision he has in the books simply so I could be
