More of a 2.5-star read. I did expect a simple storyline given the main target audience of this book, but I didn’t expect that it would take more than three quarters of the book to set the world background and introduced the characters.

Everyone is afraid of the Magicians
and when they walk among the 'dwells' during the 'Purge' they are protected by a force shied
until Sonea throws a stone at them and wills it to hit them .... she is surprised as everyone else when it does - she lives in the 'dwells' and only the 'Houses' produce magicians
She spends some time hiding from the Magicians search teams
but as she is trying to learn how to do magic again - she is getting more out of control
in the end the people hiding her turn her over ...more
