Loved this book, such a different and refreshing storyline, and very funny while sad at the same time. I did laugh out loud, and I did cry, and I mean proper tears falling uncontrolably. This was the 1st Australian book I've read.

Delia is clearing the decks as her cancer has spread again, & is trying to make sense of certain events in her life. I found it very enjoyable - quite touching without being sappy & sentimental. I didn't think I'd enjoy it at first but after the first 50 pages, or so, I got used to the time- & location-shifts & had trouble putting it down. I was very disappointed that there wasn't a chicken on the cover.

This book will stick with me for a while. Besides the 'handy hints' to prepare for dying, there was also an intriguing story in the background. I loved the chickens, the grumpy neighbour, the family and the ending was the best it could be.
