March tells the story of Mr March from Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women and the year he spends as a chaplain in the Civil War to serve the Union cause.
Mr March is based on Louisa May Alcott’s own father Bronson Alcott, both in this book and in Little Women.
The book was superbly written and the words made all of the events really come to life. The time Mr March spent at the farm teaching the slaves was achingly beautiful, yet tragic and brought tears to my eyes a few times.
