What Members Thought

I love books that are set in the present and flashback to times past, as this book does. The present story is of a book conservator restoring an old Jewish book used during the Passover feast. Most similar volumes use words only, however this one is accompanied by intricate illustrations. The conservator finds fragments of materials within the book that she sends off for analysis.

Excellent!

Though Brooks creates fascinating premises for her stories, there's something about the tone and some of the content that makes me feel uncomfortable. I always wish I could like her books more, but they always have the same effect.
