I loved this. I've heard that many Australians don't but I thought it was a hoot.
I loved the descriptions of things we take for granted. His description of trying unsuccessfully to bodysurf had me in stitches. He accurately described Australis'a obsession with big things and described foreigners worries about our deadly creatures and natural disasters.

I did not like this book. I had heard wonderful things about Bryson but found this tedious.
