Fraternal twins Rose and Fern were exceptionally close. Rose had always cared for Fern because of her sensory difficulties and when their mother overdosed and was placed in a home because of brain injury, Rose was more caring of Fern. Rose had always been ridiculed by their mother, while Fern always saw their mother as perfect. But of course, Rose was right. When the girls were twelve years old, something dreadful happened which no one ever talked about. It was buried deeply in the girls’ memori

Already released in some parts of the world, I grabbed this book from Netgalley. The Good Sister sounded like an amazing mystery/thriller read and also I love stories that involve siblings that are one Good/ one Evil. It could be due to my childhood but it has always fascinated me. I found myself loving The Good Sister way more than I thought I would. This book was so amazing that afterward, I was ranting about it to a group of friends on Instagram. One of the main characters Fern is a Librarian

Ohhhh Sally - you did it again! The Good Sister had me worked into knots and skipping naps with my toddler just so I could find out what happened. The characters, the unexpected plot, the unsettling mystery...this book twisted me like a pretzel and was such a clever, angsty read.

3.5 stars.
This story was so easy to read, I flew through the book. This was the second book from the author that I read, and I found that I really liked her domestic thriller writing style!
Plot-wise, there was nothing surprising at all in this book. I actually did manage to predict the main plot as well as all the sub-plots, but somehow I still enjoyed the book. The pace was just right, the length of the book was just right.
I'll definitely be reading more Sally Hepworth books!

I believe this is Sally's best book yet, its exciting to see her get better with every new book - and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the previous ones either.
Lovely to have a book set in a library with Fern a librarian. Fern and Rose are twin sisters but are nothing alike in either looks or personality. Fern definitely has OCD and is somewhere on the spectrum but manages her life in an orderly and measured fashion which she has done all her life. Rose is married to Owen and her one wish ...more

Sally Hepworth’s The Good Sister is an engrossing psychological domestic suspense about twins, Fern and Rose, and the lies that bind. Because of her sensory processing issues, Fern has a carefully constructed life, and relies heavily on her best friend, Rose.
When Rose discovers she can’t fall pregnant, Fern decides to have a baby for her. What could possibly go wrong?
